Take Your Mama Out - If You Can Afford To

This video is just because, and I also do have a crush on gay boy Jake Shears anyway. I like this song written basically about him coming out to his mom. Plus I've been watching endlessly this whole economic fiasco unfold all day long and am frankly tired of it already. I think I'm a masochist maybe, but one can only take so much. News is turned off now, shifting gears. Music makes me happy.

    We really are on the same musical wavelength. After hearing "Don't Feel Like Dancing"(or whatever the title of the song is) in the shower last week, I ordered a SS cd from the library. Lately, I've been borrowing cds and downloading them to my computer. (I don't know how to do it your free way) I've just discovered the SF library has EVERYthing. Even if they didn't, I knew they would have the SS.

    I LOVE this song too. I sang this last week on Singstar (PS2 Karaoke); it's fun to sing falsetto.

    I clicked on the lead singer's name and didn't realize how young he is. I thought he was my age; but he's cute and has nice arms.

    lumina - you are, too, cool! whether you knew the song or not. hey, did you also know that scissor sisters is a lesbian sexual position, that's where they took the name from? i think you can figure out that. :-)

    Hey, I know a late comment, but don't go dissin' on my Jake never should be dancing in public! Before Scissor Sisters he was a dancer in gay clubs, and he could dance for me in public anytime. Or in private preferably, but I live in fantasy-land sometimes.

Betty White "needs to start taking her relationship with God serious." Seriously?

I was one of those grassroots Facebook campaigners responsible for Betty White hosting Saturday Night Live the other night, so for that, let me just say: "You're very welcome!" I thought she was fantastic, better even than I had expected she might be, and by most accounts her coming on the show was a huge success. Except for some, who apparently had more eternal concerns weighing on their minds, precluding enjoying it so much. Like Jose, who while conceding that Betty White is legend "in this day and age of rebels and rockers" (I really don't know what that means, but it seems to be a good thing), is more concerned about her afterlife appearance instead, presumably being so old as she is. A legend, sure ... "However, I think Betty really needs to start taking her relationship with God serious. Betty can't please this new generation, she has nothing to prove to them. It Could Happen

I was digging deep again, as I do every year or so, into my box of keepsakes and relics that I really don't know why I kept them but did. Stuff I wrote as a kid (some of that, I must say, rather disturbing), old letters of the real life mailed sort, newspaper clippings of miscellany, that have strangely yellowed and gotten brittle already and that shit just ain't right since it seems not so long ago ... whatever, I'm getting old. From the Kansas City Kansan , newspaper that we got delivered daily, Friday, July 25, 1975, I had cut out and kept this one particular article headlined "Youngster completes first novel."
