Normally I might would jump into the fray like everyone else about Tom Brokaw and Karl Rove butting heads this morning , over whether or not the Bush administration had suggested that sharing oil revenue would eventually help pay for the war in Iraq. Which, of course, the Bush bunch did; and which, of course, Rove said did not because he's a lying fat piece of shit . Sort of like when I myself used to deny ever having put on a dress and make-up, despite Polaroids proving a different truth. My gripe is more to the point of why this turd is even allowed air time lying about it in the first place, being off the hook when he and the rest of them should be in jail instead. To even be discussing the issue of the cost of the war in Iraq is absurd and implies justification for the U.S. illegal invasion. But that's just my opinion, and no network's program manager ever once consulted me about their lineups for today. Fatty McGoo got his C&C book plug in anyway, just another one...

You might think the George W. Bush administration's hijacked Justice Department is still under appointment, what with the final word coming down from there this past Friday about Bush's former Department attorneys John Yoo and Jay Bybee. Seems the verdict is that the pair of them, who concocted the " Torture Memo " on behalf of the administration toward the beginning of Bush's wartime reign, really did not misconduct themselves professionally after all, as had been the first findings by the Office of Professional Responsibility; that might have meant disbarment. Instead, the two lawyering hacks only exercised "poor judgment" in writing up and signing off on the official memoranda granting limitless authority to President Bush, overriding whatever bothersome domestic and international laws that might otherwise occlude a presidential wartime notion. I do believe we have the same rising-up privileges here too, no? Props, though, to the Peruvian founding fathers for such succinctness. Straight to the point, and well said indeed. Rights are of no consequence, however, if unexercised. Don't know how it plays out in Peru, but despite our country's similarly documented rights for "the civil population to rise up in defense of the constitutional order," we as a people sure do have a history of resting on our collective laurels allowing the omnipotent powers that be to run amok.
