Pot and Kettle

President George W. Bush has securely homelanded again. I was hoping he might extend this Beijing stint thing throughout all sixteen days over there, representing and stuff. Damn the luck.

Anyway, he's back. And totally indignant about the whole Russia vs. Georgia grudge match! Harsh words he had concerning the latest overseas fiasco, and even I will have to give him props and two thumbs up for good points well made.

"I'm deeply concerned about the situation in Georgia," he said.

Rightly so. Although I'll admit when I first heard this his opening statement I figured he might be thinking Atlanta burning or something. I don't give the guy enough credit sometimes. My bad.

Then about the Russians' blitzkrieg marking "a dangerous escalation in the crisis. The violence is endangering regional peace. Civilian lives have been lost, and others are endangered."

Thank God he recognizes the importance of regional peace-keeping. Most significant the saving of civilian lives, even their endangerment.

Finally this, "Georgia is a sovereign nation and its territorial integrity must be respected. We have urged an immediate halt to the violence and a stand-down by all troops."

He's apparently not really so stupid as I might have thunk after all.

Okay, I can only fake it so much. As far as I'm concerned the two-faced hypocritical son of a bitch should just get on the next boat back to China, that slow one, and shut the hell up.

Sure the rhetoric is spot on of course, what he said. Russia is definitely sucking big donkey dick here, no doubt about it. But the whole "do as we say, not as we do" bullshit pisses me off.

Nothing left for me to say. I totally agree. China can have him.

  2. Doug - The part where he talks about a sovereign nation just causes me to blow a gasket. The only conclusion can be that Bush/Cheney and their neocon cheerleaders believe they are a law unto themselves. Disgusting!

  3. It is disgusting. Of course, we are the bosses of the world, we don't necessarily have to abide by our own rules anyway.

  4. He must take his speech writer every where! No way he came up with anything otjer than, "Uh" on his own. Yeah, this is soooo different from us killing innocents in Iraq. Excuse me while I vomit.

I Think

I think I'm bored blogging. I think I'm done with it. I think what's the point? I think you should check out my blogroll instead. I think they say stuff better anyway.

Why's There Even You and Me? A Personal Diversion

Obama still ba-rocks and McCain still, um ... is a dick. Okay. That's the extent of my political rumination today. Although I may be totally off on both counts, I wouldn't know. I honestly paid zero attention to realpolitik today so I have no clue what might have happened really. I have other more personal and most disconcerting things on my mind. I'm kind of creeped out. I have a stalker ... don't laugh. I really do. I think his name is Mike but I'm not even sure about that. He was probably lying when I asked, whatever the hell it was he said, but that's what I think I remember. I was drunk at the time. Admittedly my fault. I'm an idiot sometimes, no new tale to tell there. I don't recall exactly how I met the guy in the first place - it was a couple of years ago - but I do know that I willingly gave up my address. With directions, no less. Just in case. Damn the hooch. What was I thinking? Anyway, so here's the deal. I had him over a time or two ea...

Betty White "needs to start taking her relationship with God serious." Seriously?

I was one of those grassroots Facebook campaigners responsible for Betty White hosting Saturday Night Live the other night, so for that, let me just say: "You're very welcome!" I thought she was fantastic, better even than I had expected she might be, and by most accounts her coming on the show was a huge success. Except for some, who apparently had more eternal concerns weighing on their minds, precluding enjoying it so much. Like Jose, who while conceding that Betty White is legend "in this day and age of rebels and rockers" (I really don't know what that means, but it seems to be a good thing), is more concerned about her afterlife appearance instead, presumably being so old as she is. A legend, sure ... "However, I think Betty really needs to start taking her relationship with God serious. Betty can't please this new generation, she has nothing to prove to them. Her relationship with the Lord is what she needs to take serious." Well, all...
