Like most other gay folks, I was gratified the other night to hear President Obama announce at the State of the Union address his intention to put repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell on the agenda for 2010. Of course we were all hyped when we heard it the first time, too. Back when he was pandering the rainbow coalition for votes during his campaign, pledging to be a "fierce advocate" for LGBT rights. To start working toward getting rid of DADT during his first year as president was part of that promise. Not that he has totally snubbed us, I guess, but tagging him a "fierce advocate" is probably a stretch . It's really little wonder that much of the queer community reacted approvingly, but also with a fair amount of skepticism, the other night after hearing him vow again to do what he vowed once before with nothing gotten done so far. This DADT thing, I wouldn't think, should be such a big ordeal to get over and done with in short order. Even military p...

Paging Jerry Springer....
ReplyDeleteWell, let's pretend the story is true. (I'm not so sure. "Mum"?? Nobody from Indiana says Mum, but the article doesn't say where the granny moved to.) Watch me duck. I have no isssue with incest, especially of no children are involved. But a "group" that helps people understand their incest feelings? Ridiculous. 72 and wanting to start a family, baby and all with a 26yr old? Well...men do it all the time. I hope their baby turns out ok and in no need of any "groups" when it ages. I hope they both are tested for hereditary diseases. At least this kid will know what lies ahead. Incest happens more than we know, always has, rapes, molesting, and the children are not freaks. If it is real romantice love---atta girl! Not legal marriage? Neither is my romantic relationship. When I think of sex with any family member I know I want to vomit and ewww/yuck. But, live and let live. (I still doubt the validity of the story unless one or both have IQs of 32. Which will make for a very low IQ baby. But GW Bush became president of the USA, so...)
ReplyDeleteGross.
ReplyDeleteCue the jealous adoptive grandma...
ReplyDeleteI agree! Gross, and might I add, yuck!!
ReplyDeleteProbably not a good idea to have read this before eating breakfast. Love to hear his parents thoughts, since one of them is the child of Gross Granny.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was going to say! Okay, I'll go with gag me with a spoon!
ReplyDelete"Gross Granny"
ReplyDeleteI know this subject is not a laughing matter but I had to chuckle at that! LOL
Chairman O became President, also, and all he had to do was tell you he had a high IQ. He must be smart, because he says so.
ReplyDeleteChris, I'm guessin by his 8 years of actions and word of mouth. (HIS)
