Seven Days To Change

So I was watching on PBS this evening about the war crap, I don't recall which show, not that anyone watches public broadcasting with fattest losers and dancing fools on at the same time anyway. Whatever, I watched ... and it pissed me off all over again, just when we've all forgotten about anything other than our me me me 401(k)s and bank accounts and shit. Remember the wars? Remember how Bush has so fucked the world over these past several years? Or if nothing else, with our short-term memory disorder, at least why you've become suddenly poor? If you're not a complete idjit, you will at least, I would hope, take the time to go vote away next Tuesday the reason for this country's downward spiral. Which, by the way, will require voting for Obama. If you're a McCain supporter, sorry, no disrespect, but please just stay the fuck home. Don't risk missing elimination night of the shittiest dancer or which fatty might go home. The lines at the polls will be too l...

Disappointment of the Week

Pisses me off, this. Even as an ardent Obamaniac I have to ask, "Seriously, Barry ... are you shitting me, dude?" Well, that's just fantastic, isn't it? Typical pussified Democratic caving in as we've unfortunately all been subject to and victims of despite our (ahem) Congressional control of the past couple of years. What the hell, man? Barack Obama's announcement earlier this week supporting the latest and greatest FISA amendment, including granting immunity to the partners in crime telcos ... yeah, pretty disappointing. Fourth Amendment still be damned. Bush's illegal-and-unconstitutional-but-who-gives-a-fuck-I'm-the-president interpretation received yet another resounding Senatorial huzzah. Ah, but it was a compromise, after all. Only a small part of the bill, that telecom amnesty thingy. Whatever. This still remains the gist of the whole package, though: You must give up your privacy and constitutional rights to us if you want us to keep you safe ...

Props to Hillary

Most excellent speech this morning, and many well-deserved kudos to Ms. Hillary. Well done and well said, beginning to end. I thought she was fantastic. "So today I am standing with Senator Obama to say, ' Yes, we can! '" Better late than never, I suppose, and thank God that's over. Time now to put the infighting behind and come together for the betterment of the country and of us all. Of course, there are those few ex-Clinton-supporters-turned-sniveling-jackass-retards avowedly pledged to vote McCain now that the Hillary camp has conclusively and officially succumbed. Such party expatriates should simply fucking stay the hell home come November, boneheads all in my opinion. Lesson learned - we Democrats are not insusceptible to the lunatic fringe, contrary to my thinking all this time that the Republicans held a monopoly on bonkers. Naïveté on my part. Whatever. For the rest of us, though, onward and upward!

A Hillary Harangue

So I took a week off, that was weird. Self-imposed exile from all things Internet. Rather like rehab it was to give it up, and me not quite sure that I was up for the challenge. The first day or two I admittedly did sneak an email peek here and there, cold turkey didn't really work out so well but I eventually bucked up. I'm no addict, I can quit anytime. I'm awesome. Maybe some day I'll attempt forgoing smokes and booze for a week to further bear out my awesomeness. Some day. For now though allow me to fire up a fag (I wish), crack open a cold one and bluster about why Hillary pissed me off last night. I truly thought her speech began well enough, totally expecting a leading up to gracious concession to Barack's pledged delegates victory. " I want to start tonight by congratulating Senator Obama and his supporters on the extraordinary race that they have run. "Senator Obama has inspired so many Americans to care about politics and empowered so many more ...

Hillary's Handiwork

Okay, it's most likely a given that Hillary can't win the nomination. We all know that. And I really don't think for one second that she's so dense as to really believe otherwise, either ... so it's a real headscratcher why she insists on suffering through to the inevitable end come August. Self-inflicted humiliation, that is. While the Clinton Conclave continues to manipulate the numbers (talk about your fuzzy math!) I'd rather have hoped, after all of her constant harping about tossing her divisive hat into the Obama ring if things should go awry, that she'd have by now already committed to the greater party good. Alas, not so much. I've figured it out, though. Like any actor, well-rehearsed and having suffered sleepless nights to nail a role, it's understandable why she would wish the show to go on ... despite critical review. As this video from earlier on seems to indicate, she has presumably been hard at work honing her campaign-performance ski...

Dem Debates, Love American Style

I watched the Cleveland-hosted Clinton v. Obama bout tonight, promoted by MSNBC as the final Democratic debate of 2008. No surprise that I watched, really, considering that I am also an admitted addict to all things Seinfeld . I'll sit and watch those same syndicated classic episodes over and over and over again, scripts having by now permeated my psyche to the point that I swear I could recite verbatim every episode of every season whether or not my life depended on it. I could not only understudy for Kramer or Elaine, I'm beginning to think that I'm nearly prepared to also sub for Barack or Hillary if duty calls. Bring on the moderators! Despite the hype about how this would be a gloves-off slugfest, given Hillary's media-attention-grabbing bi-polar mood swings this past week ( Thursday , Friday , Saturday ), tonight's debate seemed to me to be pretty much rote. Don't get me wrong, I'm an Obamaniac or whatever we're to call ourselves these days, but I ...
